Bless their cotton socks

I was subbing in Primary today to do the music.  The first Sunday of the year is crazy with 10 new sunbeams with the attention span of a gnat.   But boy were they cute!  We sang some songs and built a picture of a snowman and then I took some photo's of everyone.  I always get nervous about doing the music, but it's always fun!

It was pretty chilly today,  got down to about -32C, so I drove to Church, I'm such a wimp!

Happy Birthday to me

What a perfect birthday.  The sisters made me a HUGE waffle breakfast, and after doing some chores I went to meet Alyson for dinner and a movie….we didn't actually get into the movie, so we did dinner and shopping - even better!

Birthdays are different nowadays,  I used to measure popularity by how many cards I got, but now it's all about how many birthday wishes I get on Facebook - I got over 110, but I'm sure many of them are from people I don't even know very well!  I still enjoyed the messages!

This already seems like a long winter

It's only January 3rd, and yet it seems as though it has been miserable for months.  Another snowy and slow drive to work today.  I hate it when you can't see where the road is!

It's a Friday, and nasty and snowy, so most people didn't make it into the office - which was actually quite nice.  I got loads done and still got home early enough to go to the temple.  There's a nice little nativity just outside the temple - I thought I should snap a photo before they take it down.

Sick Sisters

The sisters have been quite sick lately, Sis Lanham had kidney stones just before Christmas and now Sis Lewis has tonsillitis for the second time in a month.  This is a photo of the elders checking her poorly throat out with a flashlight :)

It was the office annual movie trip today, we went to see "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" - good fun, but, of course, I neglected to take a photo!

A New Year and a new commitment

I loved doing these photo blogs, but it does get hard to keep it up every day.  The end result is a book of photo's that reminds me of things that have happened that I would have otherwise forgotten….I guess it's kind of like a journal!
So I am committed to doing a daily photo blog again this year.  Many of the photo's will be just snapshots, but occasionally I will try to take good photo's.

I wanted to include this one, even though it was technically 2013.  Alyson, Matthew and I went to see the Flames play the Flyers.  We lost 4-1, but it was a good evening and we had great seats.  I don't really follow the Flames as much as I did when Iginla and Kippersoff played, but it was still a good night out! I was in bed before midnight so I missed all the fun at the house across the street - police, guns, arrests.  I slept through the whole thing.  Apparently some kids really got out of hand at a party.  I'm actually glad I missed it!

And so on to 2014.  I stayed home for most of the day; cleaned the house a little and the sisters took the Christmas decorations.  I love it when they go up, but I think I love it even more when they come down!  The biggest event of the day was the long-overdue tidying of the pantry.  This is the after picture, I know where everything is, and it makes me happy!
